Learning to Crochet & Craft

My granny lived to be 95 years of age...Cornelia Ann Booth (known as Nelia to close family and friends) and I was teaching myself to crochet at age 20 and just could not figure out what the pattern meant by "crocheting into the space"......Granny patiently showed me and using books and patterns, I taught myself to crochet.  A friend showed my how to cross-stitch while we waited for customers to come into Gatlin's Shoes in Blacksburg VA.    I have my granny's yarn basket and crochet hooks.
