Review of The Naomi Chronicles, Book One, Beginning Anew by Paula Rose Michelson Wow, I am stunned at the bravery and courage I just experienced in reading The Naomi Chronicles--Book One--Beginning Anew.   It is magnificent!   I had so many questions which formed and were not answered as I read the Casa de Naomi books.  I feel like it brought closure to all of my questions about Naomi and  her past and the history of the Jewish people.  What a beautiful testimony of God's love and guidance!  I personally feel that  it was my favorite of the entire series!  It seemed to truly get at the heart of the characters.   It also left me wanting to know more about Chaz and Naomi.....I want them to have children and be happy and grow old together.   I feel that Naomi has missed  so much and deserves to live a joyful and abundanat life was denied her in the past!!           I can not review this bea...

Review of Perfect Wedding

Review of Perfect Wedding by Debra Benson Leah is a successful weight-loss expert. She seems to have everything an independent girl ever wanted, but for one a perfect wedding. She had always dreamed of walking down the aisle with her father leading her toward her perfect mate. But she doesn't know her father. His idenitity has remained a secret for a very long time, and she knows she has to exhaust all her efforts to convince her mother to spill. In the midst of her emotional turmoil, she meets Andrew, a man dumped by his wife, her new client, for being overweight. On one of their meetings, he notices her sad disposition and offers to listen, she opens up to him and all things begin to change.  Will Leah find her father and will she ever see her dream come true in a perfect Wedding? MY REVIEW: I won a copy of this book from the author on a blog giveaway and was really excited as my youngest daughter is engaged and I thought it would make a great gift for her.  ...

Review of Second Chance by Eileen Hinkle Rife Mave Robertson, a recent empty nester, wants the fire back in her marriage, but her husband, Jerry, remains aloof. Is he having an affair? A midlife crisis? When a neighbor suggests she “get a life,” Mave accepts the challenge and volunteers at an inner-city teen ministry where she's thrown into a culture of drugs, gangs, and unwed teen moms. She soon discovers someone she can help, but might he also be the cure for both her stale marriage and her crumbling relationship with her father? ~~ Dareece Jackson, a teen from the projects, wants something in Mave’s purse…and he’ll stop at nothing to get it. My Review of Second Chance: God certainly has a plan in what He has me read.  I am 50 years old and feeling very lonesome, sad, and useless in my "empty nest".   This book arrived a good while ago and it got pushed far underneath a piece of furniture and I discovered it last week.    As I began reading, I though...

Blown Away by Beth Wiseman's new novel: Need You Now

Image
[[ASIN:1595548874 Need You Now]] I have read many of Beth Wiseman's novels previously, but they were all works of Amish fiction.   This new novel was far from disappointing and I must admit that I was reluctant to read it at first.   Darlene and Brad Henderson move from the big city to the small town on Round Top, Texas, when their teenage son gets into some trouble.    The anxiety and adjustment of the move begin to cause some dangerous behaviors to surface in their "perfect" teenage daughter, Grace.   Younger daughter, Ansley, convinces Dad to let her raise chickens if she maintains a C-average which they thought would never happen....but soon the family is indeed raising chickens.   A new friend comes to Darlene's rescue and turns out to be not only famous but they become the best of friends.    Tensions continue to rise as Darlene takes a job outside the home for the first time ever and receives inappropriate attention from one of her sp...
