Rhonda's Doings !

I took cake decorating classes at A.C. Moore (the first course on basics) and Michael's (the fondant & gum paste class) and have had fun playing with cakes....my wonderful hubby makes my frosting for me and I do the decorating....but I only do it for friends and family as I am not PROFESSIONAL!!!   But I enjoy it and I get to "have my cake and eat it too" after decorating, of course!  LOL This was Abigail's 8th birthday cake, one of my precious grandchildren This was another grandchild's birthday cake, for Layken...her fairy cake and she loved it!!  For my honey of a hubby on his 59th birthday on June 15, 2011, I created this delicious cupcake tower!  YUMMY!  My final fondant/gumpaste cake was very hodge-podge as I was staying in the hospital 3-5 nights a week during that time with my dear sweet mom-in-law and didn't have a lot of time to put into practicing with it....but I learned to make homemade fondant too, which is chea...

FAMILY We drove my mom to her cardiologist appointment today to followup after her recent heart attack and placement of stent in an artery that was 98% clogged!  She is doing quite well and was told to come back in 2-3 months but that she is to call if she experiences any more chest pains!    My mom is 78 and I know she won't live forever, but I want her to stay with me!  I don't want to lose my mom!  I want to go to her home in Appomattox and make us a cup of hot Earl Grey tea in her keurig machine (which she doesn't "know how to use", she claims--I laugh and say "You just want me to come and make you a cup of tea, don't you, Mama?" and she laughs and says "YeS!") and sit and crochet on a prayer shawl as we chat.   Please, God, protect and heal my mother.  I still need her.  Thank you.  My mom-in-law, Dot Hall, passed away this summer after a battle for 3 months with cancer and a leg amputation.  I was able to stay at th...
