"The Devoted Life: A Creative Journal" Book Review
The Devoted Life: a creative journal
by Marjorie Jackson
Book Description:
Come Experience It for Yourself. . . Life Is Good with a God Who Is Great!
This topically guided creative journal for teen girls offers inspiration and encouragement for those who desire to live their lives fully devoted to Christ. Amidst the loud, confusing voices of the world, trying to tell them which way is the right way to go, girls need to stop, rest, refuel, and reflect in the presence of their truest Friend and most loyal heavenly Father. Whether it’s through creativity, meditating on scripture, prayer, or writing, readers will join young author and artist, Marjorie Jackson, for a time of life-giving fun, faith-strengthening encouragement, and God-glorifying growth. As girls connect with their first love, Jesus, they will begin to understand that life is truly good with a God who is absolutely great!
MY BOOK REVIEW: What an awesome journal for young ladies. I love the practical devotion topics, and journal prompts. Each devotion includes scripture verse as well as additional scripture verses for "going deeper". Each section has artwork for coloring. I teach a group of young teens at my church and they enjoy coloring artwork such as the ones that are featured in this book. I think this would make a great gift for teenage girls.
I am rating this devotional 5 stars and highly recommend it. While this book is available in print and kindle edition, I would recommend the print version as teens could not color the artwork on kindle edition.
I received a digital version of this book from Shiloh Run Press and netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
About the Author:
Marjorie Jackson is a twenty-year old, who has authored two books so far--The Greatest Book You've Never Read (2013) which was written to get young people excited about reading the Bible, and Devoted: A Girl's 31-Day Guide to Good Living with a Great God (Barbour Publishing, 2017). She is passionate about sharing Jesus with young women through writing, creating artwork, speaking, engaging in social media, and building friendships. She is an Arkansas native and the oldest of six wildly energetic, half-Guatemalan Jackson kids. She enjoys playing piano, doing hand lettering, creating art, savoring Italian cream sodas, traveling, learning languages, and talking with family, friends, strangers....pretty much anybody.
