Blown Away by Beth Wiseman's new novel: Need You Now

[[ASIN:1595548874 Need You Now]]
I have read many of Beth Wiseman's novels previously, but they were all works of Amish fiction.   This new novel was far from disappointing and I must admit that I was reluctant to read it at first.
Darlene and Brad Henderson move from the big city to the small town on Round Top, Texas, when their teenage son gets into some trouble.    The anxiety and adjustment of the move begin to cause some dangerous behaviors to surface in their "perfect" teenage daughter, Grace.   Younger daughter, Ansley, convinces Dad to let her raise chickens if she maintains a C-average which they thought would never happen....but soon the family is indeed raising chickens.
A new friend comes to Darlene's rescue and turns out to be not only famous but they become the best of friends.    Tensions continue to rise as Darlene takes a job outside the home for the first time ever and receives inappropriate attention from one of her special needs' students' dads.      Darlene is witnessing to her new famous friend, Layla, and finds herself in her own crisis of faith.   Can their marriage and family survive?   Darlene and her whole family are in great need of God and his loving grace and forgiveness.    Will they be able to pull it together and make it as a family in a new town?
Read Beth Wiseman's Need You Now to find out.   You will not be disappointed.    This book is a testament to marriage, commitment and family values.
I found myself laughing at times and crying tears of sorrow as well.     This book has something for everyone.     A true romance for the romantics at heart and strong Christian values.   I look forward to reading more books like this from Beth, but I still love her Amish fiction.   She even included the teenage daughter, Grace, reading her own Amish fiction in the novel!   How appropriate.
I received this book free from Book Sneeze and Thomas Nelson Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

  1. I loved this book as well. Very realistic portrayal of the struggles of marriage and raising a family. Despite all the difficulties they face, the book overall is very hopeful, and I think most readers will be able to relate to the problems. It would also be a helpful book for someone who wants to understand what goes on in the mind of a teen who seems “perfect” on the outside but is dealing with life’s pressure in a very unhealthy way. Great book!

  2. Christian Fiction, I agree with you and having taught teens for many years, I think it would be very helpful for young teens to read as well as parents and teachers. Thanks for your comments.
